Code Lyoko: Game Start
Fanfiction by:
@vALoN

Synopsis (EDIT)
In 2013, the Lyoko Warriors had reunited at the 10-year Kadic Academy reunion on August the 28th of that year. Their reunion soon signalled a devastating war between the worlds of Earth and Lyoko that spanned into a whole month, before the Lyoko Warriors were trapped inside Guardians by XANA, scattered throughout the different sectors on Lyoko. The last one to leave - Jeremie Belpois - shut off the supercomputer, putting XANA away for an eternal sleep, and setted a Return to the Past, erasing the memories of the past month, and the people that were lost in it. Family members were forgotten, and so were the Lyoko Warriors, as they disappeared without a trace. Life continued for all... except for 14-year-old Andrew Hendrix.

When Andrew's visionary dreams finally lead him to attend the prestigious Kadic Junior High Academy instead of a school for the gifted in Paris, the Canadian Immigrant from Quebec City finds himself in a struggle to survive the horrors of junior high, as he is automatically considered an outcast after an unfortunate incident on his first day in science class. When a strange being called XANA possesses him and forces him to turn on the supercomputer, Andrew and his newfound friends - Daisuke and Kyouki Ukihara and Jacqueline Francois - find themselves hurtled into a world of war, betrayal, and unfinished buisness. When the Curse of XANA is fulfilled, the Lyoko Warriors and their Apprentices discover that Xana isn't truly their enemy. But what happens when a great war involving everyone you know and love... ends up becoming one being's personal affair?

Author’s Note:

Hiya! This is @vALoN here with my first ever Code Lyoko fanfic! While I am new to the Code Lyoko fanfiction community, I’m not a stranger to the fanfiction community in general. I have been writing fanfiction since I was eleven years old with Kim Possible and Cyberchase fanfictions, and eventually moved onto Pokemon, then Artemis Fowl, and finally, I ended up here, at Code Lyoko. At the same time, I’m writing a Cyberchase doujinshi for the Delete Lover’s Shrine and DeviantART called “Cyberchase: The Quest.”

This is my first shot at a new fandom that I had recently remembered from nearly three years ago, and I hope that you will enjoy reading and reviewing this as much as I will writing it.

Now, about the reviews… If you don’t like something about my writing, then let me know what’s wrong so that I can fix it for the next chapter, so that you guys can enjoy the fanfic more. And if you have something bad to say about this, don’t just say “it sucks” or something like that without giving me a reason. If you do that, I will consider that as a flame and I will completely ignore it. If you don’t have a reason to not like it, then don’t post it up. If you like it, tell me why you like it, so I’ll know what to fix and what to keep.

Now, enough with the author’s note! On with the show! Here’s the Prologue: The Dream. Enjoy!

-@vALoN

EDIT: As you have noticed, the synopsis changed. But that doesn't mean that their quest to find the Lyoko Warriors isn't a part of the story anymore. It still is, but it's not the exact, main one. Also, the rating has changed from PG-13 to 14A, so please be aware of the ratings! (That means you, young, 12-year-old readers...)

Thank you!

Prologue: The Dream

Jeremie slammed his fist on the armrests of his hover chair, his thoughts of logic and computer codes clouded with frustration and failure.

He had only one chance; one chance to activate the virus to destroy XANA and free his friends from their Guardians. But as the bleeping screen with a red exclamation mark and circle continued to taunt him, Jeremie did only what he could do: let his frustrated tears rush down his pale, bruised cheek.

Ten years ago, Jeremie had found the abandoned factory and the supercomputer connected to Lyoko, where he first met Aelita – the girl that had lost her memories and was trapped inside Lyoko for a number of years, and a group of people he soon ended up calling his friends. Now, ten years later, their reunion after graduation is interrupted and ruined by an old enemy, and in only a matter of hours, his friends had disappeared, one by one.

And now, he failed to set them free and put XANA back into eternal sleep. Jeremie was tired, injured, and frustrated.

Chirp! A window opened on the supercomputer’s screen. Aelita – in her virtualized form – dissolved onto the screen, her gently voice breaking through Jeremy’s foggy mind.

“Jeremie?” Aelita asked, “You alright?”

“How can I be alright?” the 24-year-old replied somberly, facing the pale skinned, pink-haired face with tear-stricken eyes. “It didn’t work, Aelita. Now your trapped in that tower unless I go in after you-!”
“No, Jeremie.” Aelita interrupted, shaking her head, “You’re not prepared for the new Lyoko. If the others couldn’t survive through it, how do you expect yourself to?”

Jeremie frowned. He took off his glasses briefly to wipe his eyes before putting them back on. His expression was furrowed as he faced Aelita with a dilemma that only the two of them were forced to face. It was either Jeremie went to Lyoko to free Aelita and the others, or he shuts down the supercomputer once more, with his existence in Earth becoming nothing but a figment of one’s imagination.

The problem was that if he shut the computer off, he would have to wait for a newcomer to set him and the others free from their Guardians.

Jeremie and Aelita continued to stare at each other in an uncomfortable silence. Moments later, Aelita was the first to speak.
“This is a huge risk, Jeremie. Of all places. Sector Five will be hard for the newcomer to get through successfully.”

Jeremie smiled in reply. “I have faith in them, Aelita. It’s better than me dying for real and no starting over for the others. XANA will win if I do otherwise.

Aelita sighed. “Alright, then. I guess I’ll be stuck here for a while, then.”

Jeremie stood from his seat and replied as he placed his earpiece on the computer’s keyboard, “Yeah. Sorry about that part.”
Aelita just smiled in reply. As she waved goodbye, Aelita winked and said, “See you in a couple of years, Jeremie.”
Jeremie saluted in reply before Aelita signed off.

The elevator doors hissed open, revealing the motherboard of the supercomputer, flashing gold and green with vapor dripping off the edges.

In slow, steady steps, with a metal bar strapped to his back by a rope he had found (just in case), Jeremie walked towards the motherboard, his steps resonating against cement walls and echoing through a ceiling vent that led to the scanner room upstairs.

When he arrived at the front of the motherboard, Jeremie stopped, a final stomp echoing through the room.

Jeremie extended a finger at a non-glowing area of the board where a strange figure of an eye was carved into the strong metal. As soon as his finger was close enough, the section split in half and slid open to reveal a black lever that hissed and locked into place.

Jeremie hesitantly gripped the lever’s metal handle and prepared to pull it down, until a taunting voice interrupted him.

“You’re asking for a death wish, aren’t you?”

Jeremie gasped and stared up to come face to face with the one being who he despised the most.

“XANA…”

The dark cloaked figure named XANA smirked tauntingly, before flipping in midair over Jeremie’s head and landing in front of the elevator door to prevent Jeremie from escaping.

“You know, if you really wanted to join your friends that badly, you could have just asked me.”

Jeremie let go of the lever and pulled the metal rod from his back, facing XANA in an attack stance. “Never in a million years will I ask you for a favor.” Jeremie sneered back, “Besides, do you seriously think I’m that selfish?”

XANA just shrugged casually. “Franz was no different. Why shouldn’t you be?” – Jeremie gritted his teeth when violet energy crackled at XANA’s fingertips as his expression darkened – “Now prepare to fall into an eternal sleep, Jeremie.”

With a resounding boom, the electric charge was released, setting the air on fire as it travelled.

Jeremie leaped out of the way, crash landing on the floor a few meters away from XANA diagonally and immediately got back up on his feet and began charging at XANA.

“Not without a fight!” Jeremie screamed as he tackled XANA. The two enemies both tried to overthrow the other with much struggle.

After a moment of strained strength, XANA growled and let out a battle cry as he threw Jeremie back with a force of ultraviolet energy.

Jeremie grunted as he crashed into the motherboard, hissing in pain with the back of his neck feeling like it was on fire. As Jeremie opened his eyes facing upwards, after wincing in pain, he noticed the lever that still wasn’t pulled down.

As Jeremie gripped the lever tightly in his sweaty hand, XANA – who was slowly approaching Jeremie with energy crackling in his hands – came to a sudden halt, his ebony eyes widening with fear.

“No!” XANA screamed, his voice altering to a deeper, more monstrous tone, his pupils becoming the eye symbol on the motherboard.

“See ya, XANA.” Jeremie smirked, as he pulled the lever down hard, causing XANA to scream in pain before turning into a shadowy vapor that slowly virtualized into an eternal sleep.

With a sigh - as the lights of the motherboard flashed off, the board sinking to the ground and being locked up – Jeremie, with the weak amount of strength that he had left, raised his left arm weakly and pressed a button on his digital watch.

As the watch began to glow brightly, Jeremie was beginning to be swollen by a glowing, orange substance rapidly.

Breathlessly, Jeremie commanded hoarsely, “Return to the past now!”

As soon as the Guardian took the unconscious Jeremie captive, a blinding white light was released from the watch, bathing the whole world in the warm, calming light, reversing the clocks back to when the sun rose nearly a month ago.

When the light had dispersed and the sun had risen, Jeremie and the Guardian were gone. The supercomputer was shut down, and the remaining memories of Jeremie and the Lyoko warriors had become nothing but the figment of one boy’s imagination.

And soon, the old factory was abandoned once again.

Andrew bolted up from his sleep, panting and breathless.

He let out a sigh, “That strange dream again…”

As the sun rose behind the city of Paris, Andrew slid out of bed and wiped his eyes before putting his round, black-framed glasses on. As the city of Paris had finally woken up, Andrew asked the same question that he had asked himself every morning for the past five years: “Who was that guy?”

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There's a reason why I didn't put much description in here for the prologue. You'll find that you in the next chapter, Chapter One: Aelita! Let me know what you think of it! Remember, no bad reviews without reasons, please!

i'm glad that the readers are liking it so far.

I'm working on the draft for the first chapter right now, and I might be able to finish the draft by tonight, and I might be able to upload the chapter tomorrow. Hopefully. In the next chapter, you'll see a bit more depth of character, and descriptions will be given to those who found it disappointing that there weren't much character descriptions.

I hope to have more people read and review this! Remember, positive critisism is encouraged, for I would love to make my writing better for my peers to read!

Author's Note:

YES! Finally, after nearly half a month of writing the draft, it is finished! Now, the "final" copy can be uploaded onto CLTCG!

Thanks to the people who reviewed the prologue of the story! I'm glad you all liked it!

Now, here is Chapter One: Aelita. Enjoy, and please give some constructive critisism to make my work better for everyone to read and enjoy!

-@vALoN

Chapter One: Aelita

14-year-old Andrew Hendrix stood at the gate of the prestigeous Kadic Academy: a tall, three-storey, one acre wide, beige, stone building that was created as a local boarding school near the city's small forest.

It took Andrew - the only child prodigy in his family - about sixteen months to persuade his parents into letting him attend Kadic Academy instead of the School for Gifted Students: Paris Campus. All for one reason: to find out who that man was in his dream for the past five years.

At first, the "visions" had driven a nine-year-old to insomnia, always being awakened somewhere in the middle of the dream and to find himself in his bed, sweating, at 2am in the morning. By the time he turned ten, the dreams started becoming more and more complete, like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle finally coming together. The quiet, unclear voices became clearer every night, names began to surface, and more scenes were added each time.

Andrew took a deep breath and walked into the crowded courtyard of Kadic Academy. Today was the first time he was going from a day student to a boarding student, despite the fact that he had been attending the academy for nearly two months already.

During the first day of school, Andrew almost immediately became what the kids labelled as a "geek" or "nerd" when he answered a science equation in chemistry class better than the teacher herself. Next thing he knew, nobody talked to him unless they were yelling "Geek!" into his ear while running pass him in the hallways or in the courtyard. His two months at Kadic lately have been nothing but torture for him. His parents said that he should switch schools, but Andrew had other plans. He still didn't have a clue as t where the mysterious computer was located, or who "Jeremie" and "Aelita" exactly were.

Andrew's breath caught in his throat as he began to feel light-headed. He stopped walking instantly and shut his eyes tight as a white light flashed behind his eyelids. When he opened his eyes, he was still in the courtyard, but there were two boys approximately his age. One had chestnut hair and wore a brown jersey, a beige jacket, and olive, baggy pants.

The other one had blonde, spiky hair with a splash of purple on the front of the spike, wearing a purple sweat jacket over a dark purple, long-sleeved shirt, and violet pants. His tall hair and orange platform shoes made Andrew think twice about his real size.

"C'mon, Jeremie." the brown-haired boy said, his science textbooks under his arm, "We're gonna be late for class."

"And Ms. Hertz will probably send us to detention if we're late." the blonde-haired boy added with a goofy smile plastered across his pale face. Andrew noticed that this one was fairly scrawny.

"Coming!" another voice replied, this time, it was louder than the other two. As his vision began to adjust, Andrew's vision was blinded by another flash of white light, making the two boys disappear, and the courtyard being back to normal. As the school bell rang, the crowd in the courtyard began to disperse.

"Quit standing there, dork!" a voice sneered at Andrew as he and his friends ran past him, the group of boys snickering as they entered the double doors of Kadic Academy.

Andrew frowned, shaking his head into focus. With a sigh, he ran into the school with the crowd of students mobbing the double doors as the bell stopped ringing.

* * *

As the final bell for the morning class rang, Andrew was the last to enter the classroom, meaning that he was the last one to choose a seat.

Andrew scanned the room for an empty table in the back row, but sighed to his dismay when he found every single one of them full. Andrew was even more disappointed when he found that the only seat left was beside Kadic Academy's star soccer player, Daisuke Ukihara.

“Take your seats, please.” Ms Hertz, the grey-haired, skinny science teacher with small, round-rimmed glasses hollered over the chatter of the class.

Andrew groaned inwardly as he walked over to the empty seat beside Daisuke and settled in.

“Hey, you’re… Andrew, right?” the black-haired Japanese teen asked, “The immigrant from Canada?”

“Uhh…” Andrew muttered, “Yeah, that’s me. You’re Daisuke Ukihara, aren’t you?”

Daisuke smiled. “That’s me. Nice to finally meet you.”

Andrew managed to surface a small smile. “Ditto. You’re probably the only one who’s managed to last a thirty-second conversation with me without calling me a dork or a nerd once.”

“Well, we’re not all the same.” Daisuke replied, “There’s some of us that prefer to stay along the sidelines, and not say anything.”

Sometime through Ms. Hertz’s explanation of the science of the three different matters – solid, liquid and gas – Andrew began to feel light-headed, and the images and sounds around him began to dim down to complete silence as another white light flashed in front of Andrew’s vision. When the light dispersed, the classroom was filled with different people and various muttering sounds, but Ms. Hertz was still talking about the three different matters at exactly where she left off in Andrew’s mind.

“Hey, Jeremie!” a familiar voice hissed from behind.

Andrew whirled his head around to face the two guys from before. The one with the tall, blonde hair was whispering.

“Any word from XANA yet?” he asked.

“No, not yet.” Another unseen voice replied, “So far, so good.”

Another white light flashed in front of his eyes and soon he was back in his present class, with Ms. Hertz explaining the six different transformations of the three matters on the blackboard.

“XANA?” Andrew wondered out loud under his breath. “And… Jeremie? Why do these names sound so familiar?”

“Hey, Einstein.” Daisuke asked in a whisper.

Another feeling of deja-vu washed over Andrew’s conscious.

“Uh… yeah?” Andrew replied questionably.

“You alright?” Daisuke asked, “You seemed to be staring into space for a second there…”

“Huh?” Andrew blinked. “Oh… yeah… Uh… yeah, I’m-ow!”

Andrew clutched his head as sharp pains pinned Andrew’s conscious, pulling him halfway out of reality and halfway into a series of flashbacks.

An image of a pink-haired girl wearing a pink overall dress, hoodie and boots with cotton balls flashed for a second, a name being whispered, its echo resonation through his mind:

Aelita

Another flash. Soon, random scenes from his dream flashed through his mind behind his eyelids.

An orange flash nearly blinded Andrew, as he soon found himself in a strange, blue room. It was as if he was in a computer game, with pixel blocks sticking out of the walls and ceiling surrounding him, the floor and walls seeming to alter at the very moment that a button with the strange symbol from his dream had been pushed into a wall.

The block in front of Andrew was being lowered to a flat surface as the floor, revealing a glowing, orange sphere like the one from his dream.

A young man in his early 20’s with blonde hair and pale skin, wearing a pair of black-rimmed, square glasses, a pastel blue button-up casual shirt, a pair of jeans, a long, black jacket, and black dress shoes was trapped inside. A floating, unconscious body with its mind in a restless sleep.

One name came to Andrew’s mind that instant when he saw the man’s restless face:

Jeremie

“Then this is…” Andrew whispered.

A blinding flash of white light hurtled Andrew back into reality, a shock of pain overcoming his senses.

Andrew screamed in pain, collapsing from his chair, curling up in pain, clutching his head as two different voices filled his head.

“Listen to my voice, Andrew…”

“Andrew, stay focused! That’s just what he wants you to do: to listen to him!”

“You hate this world, don’t you?”

Andrew soon lost hold of consciousness, as he soon fell into a somewhat kind of trance.

Yes, I do… Everyone being so mean to me… I didn’t do anything to them…

“Andrew, that’s not true! Not everyone!”

“Then you and I are alike, Andrew. We both hate this stupid world, using us then disposing us after their use of us are complete. So unfair, isn’t it?”

Yes, it is…

“Andrew, life is meant to be unfair! That’s what makes us stronger!”

“Then take my hand, Andrew. Let me show you how to fight back, so that they will never hurt you again.”

Andrew’s eyes seemed to droop sleepily as a gloved hand reached out from the dark side of his mind, dragging him away from the light slowly.

Soon, Andrew couldn’t think at all. He felt rushes of adrenaline throughout his body as the darkness began to envelop him slowly.

“Don’t fight it, Andrew.” the suave voice whispered as Andrew struggled to free himself from the shadows. “It will only make them fight harder…”

No…
Andrew cried, as tears began to surface through his eyes as fear struck through his heart, desperately fighting to escape the tendrils of darkness that surrounded him. Please, let me go… Let me go, please!

“It was your choice, Andrew. You are the only one at blame.”

The adrenaline continued to course through his blood vessels, sending shivers down his spine.

“Let him go, XANA.” The other voice echoed lightly in Andrew’s subconscious, as soon as the shadows were pulling him into the deepest end of his mind’s shadows. “He’s much too young to match to your plans. He won’t be able to survive an hour, let alone at least a month.”

“Don’t think you’re fooling me, my rival. He’s the one that you seem to be protecting. So, there must be some kind of decency with this boy…”

“You leave me with no choice then.”

Somebody… help me… please…

Then, there it was: a small, flicker of light.

“Andrew…” a voice whispered. It was the voice that he had stupidly ignored from before.

The shadows fled from their grasp on Andrew, and the young boy felt his body falling, before a warm, smooth hand grasped his weak hand.

Andrew fluttered his eyes open and was nearly blinded by the light that his hero emitted, his hand pale and glowing.

“Are you…?” Andrew whispered.

“Hold on tightly, Andrew.” The voice said softly.

Andrew had managed to grasp his hand around the glowing one that saved him, a bright light emitting from their grasped hands.

When the light dispersed, he was in a vast whiteness, sitting back to back with someone half a size taller than he was.

“How did it feel, Andrew?” the voice asked.

“Huh?”

“To be possessed by XANA?”

“Oh…”

“Not so pleasant, was it?”

Andrew frowned. “Not at all…”

The voice let out a deep breath, a sudden wind blowing. “There’s pure darkness for you: unpleasant… yet exhilarating.”

Andrew couldn’t help but linger on the words that the stranger said. Unpleasant, yet exhilarating…

The rush of adrenaline that Andrew had felt earlier still remained in remnants in Andrew’s memory, but the bitterness of fear and the pain in his chest from his drumming heart also tainted this unpleasant memory.

“What did you want to ask me earlier?” the voice asked.

“Uh…” Andrew stammered, slightly shocked by the sudden question that came from behind him. “Oh… that. I was going to ask if…”

“Ask if…?”

“Are you an angel?” Andrew blurted out, his cheeks turning red with embarrassment. What a silly question to ask! Silly and stupid!

The voice chuckled lightly, almost making Andrew think that – for a moment – he really was an angel, his laugh as light as a feather in a gentle, summer wind.

“Not even close, I’m afraid.” The voice replied. “But, I once knew one.”

“Really? Who was it?”

The voice had paused before answering, “A girl that is as close to me as is my own heart. Her name was Aelita.”

The image of the smiling, pink-haired girl in the hoodie and overall dress flashed in front of Andrew’s conscious.

“You mean the girl with the pink hair?” Andrew asked.

“Yeah, that’s her.” The voice sighed. “It’s been a while since I last saw her. Probably forgot about me by now.”

“You can’t be so sure.” Andrew reassured. “Where is she now?”

The voice sighed lightly, followed by another small breeze of wind across Andrew’s face. “Who knows? She’s constantly moving from tower to tower to protect herself from XANA. At the same time, she’s probably looking for the others.”

Andrew’s train of sub-consciousness was halted when he heard the word, others.

“Who are the others?

“The Lyoko Warriors. They were trapped inside Guardians scattered across Lyoko.”

Andrew gasped as three people appeared. One was a Japanese woman in her early 20’s, and she seemed to be the eldest. She had short, black hair, pale skin, and she was wearing a black and blue kimono-style of outfit with wooden sandals.

The other two figures were older versions of the two boys he saw in his visions. The brown-haired one was wearing a grey and gold yukata, four katanas equipped at his sides and on his back. He also wore wooden sandals.

The spiky blonde-haired one basically looked like a giant purple cat wearing a blue and purple yukata. Two, pointed purple cat ears jutted out of his head and his hands and feet were replaced with purple cat paws.

“Who are they?” Andrew whispered.

“The Lyoko Warriors.” The voice replied, “Their locations are scattered across Lyoko, trapped and losing a different part of themselves slowly.”

“Where’s Aelita?” Andrew asked. “Or Jeremie?”

“Jeremie is somewhere on Sector Five, that’s all I know.” The voice replied. “And Aelita is in a tower somewhere on Lyoko. Find Aelita, and she’ll help you find the others. The rest you’ll figure out on your own. Now…” – the images of the Lyoko Warriors dispersed, and Andrew gasped when a hand was placed on his shoulder – “Ready to go back to Earth?”

“I guess.” Andrew replied, “But, who are-?”

Andrew turned his head to see the person he was talking to, but was blinded by a white light instead, causing him to close his eyes to block out most of the light.

When he opened them again, he was in the Kadic medical room, with Daisuke hovering over him with the school nurse.

“He’s awake.” The nurse smiled in relief.

“What happened there, Andrew?” Daisuke asked, “One minute you’re in pain, the next, you’re throwing objects and bolts of electricity everywhere, and then you fall unconscious.”

As Daisuke spoke, visions of an underground sewer accessed via an underground tunnel in the Kadic boiler room and a sewage passage in the forest behind Kadic that lead to an old bridge leading to an abandoned factory. Images of an elevator going down flashed through rapidly, revealing on one floor, the supercomputer from his dream, a room of three glowing, metal cylinders hooked up to the walls in a circular formation, and a bright room as to where the supercomputer’s motherboard was kept, where Andrew saw Jeremie and XANA fighting in his dream.

Andrew…

It was the voice again. Hoarse and haunting; shadows began creeping into his consciousness.

… Fall into the darkness, Andrew…

No! I won’t make the same mistake again!

Andrew…

No!

Adrenaline rushed through his body once more as the unpleasant sensations rushed through his head, shivering his spine, tendrils of darkness blocking his vision.

Go to the factory… Turn the computer back on…

Daisuke’s eyes widened as Andrew began to stand up from his bed, staring in a trance. A strange, eye-like symbol replaced where his pupil and iris used to be.

“A…Andrew?” Daisuke asked cautiously.

Andrew’s head snapped towards Daisuke’s direction, the eye-like symbol pulsating in his lifeless eyes, causing Daisuke and the nurse to gasp.

And don’t let anyone get in the way…

Daisuke screamed as he leapt out of the way of a chair that Andrew hurtled at him, violet electricity sparking in his hands and around the chair.

“Daisuke, what’s happening to him?!” the nurse exclaimed, as she flattened herself up against the wall.

Before Daisuke could answer, Andrew had shattered a window into a thousand pieces. Jumping at an incredible height through the shower of glass, Andrew leaped through the window and dashed across the courtyard in a series of mirages into the forest behind the school.

“Andrew!” Daisuke cried, chasing after the young genius. “ANDREW!”

Daisuke swatted the greenery away from his face, careful to watch where Andrew was in the thick forestry. Apparently, nobody tended to the forest, and eventually grew into a French jungle.

The Japanese teen gasped for air when the two had arrived at a small clearing. Between the two teens, there was a rusted old sewer cap.

“Andrew, what the hell is going on?!” Daisuke demanded after a moment of silence.

Another minute of silence. When Andew finally surfaced a dark smirk, Daisuke gritted his teeth and got into a defensive position.

What the hell is going on here?

Daisuke screamed in pain as violet bursts of electricity shot from Andrew’s hand, sending Daisuke flying into a nearby shrub.

As Daisuke struggled to get back up, Andrew lifted the sewer cap and climbed down, closing the lid with a scratching thud that echoed in the clearing.

Daisuke grunted in pain and discomfort as he attempted to stand back up and failed.

“Nii-chan!” a high, young voice called from the shrubbery.

Daisuke gasped as a Japanese girl a couple of years younger than him poked her head through the tree branches. Her skin was pale, and her long, wavy ebony black hair and her sparkling black eyes shimmered in the weak, morning sun. She was wearing a white t-shirt and denim shorts. She held her broken sandals in her hands.

“Kyouki?” Daisuke exclaimed, “What are you doing here, chibuki?”

“Looking for you.” Kyouki replied, “The new girl, Jacqueline, told me about what happened today in Grade 9 Science class, so I got worried. So, we followed you in to the forest!”

Daisuke’s eyes widened. “Matte. Back up. What do you mean by ‘we’?”

“By ‘we,’ she means me and her.” A voice said from behind the trees, taking Daisuke by surprise. “You got a problem with that, Ukihara?”

Daisuke frowned. Already he wasn’t liking the blonde with the beret. Her white haulter sweater and black jeans with sneakers suggested the she was a casual student at a public school.

Turning to his sister, Daisuke explained to Kyouki about Andrew’s sudden reaction to mental pains that he was having in the morning. How he had special abilities and how his eyes changed into a strange symbol. And finally ended up with how Andrew had attacked him before entering the sewers.

“I always thought that the geek wasn’t normal.” Jacqueline muttered. “But I didn’t expect him to be a monster.”

Daisuke was starting to lose his patience with this transfer student. “You guys should seriously stop calling him that! He’s just as normal as you guys if you get to know him!”

“Then what else would you call him, Ukihara?!” Jacqueline retorted, “He attacked you and left without even considering an apology! He has special abilities that endanger the people around him!”

“There’s more to that, I know it!” Daisuke argued, standing up to meet Jacqueline’s eye level. “The fact that you guys are shunning him out and treating him like a ‘monster’ is the whole reason that this whole thing started! I heard him mutter when he collapsed to the floor, that he hated the world because nobody was being nice to him, even though he didn’t do anything to you guys!”

“He did do something to us!” Jacqueline argued, “He humiliated us in front of each other and our adult peers! He deserves to be treated the way he is!”

“He can’t help it if his IQ level is higher than most! He doesn’t know when to stop explaining everything he knows, he grew up in a different environment than Kadic! You can’t blame him for being a tiny bit different?!”

“He’s not just a tiny bit different, Ukihara! He’s an outcast! He’s not at all like us!”

“What difference does that make, Francois?! Shouldn’t everybody be treated fairly, no matter how smart they are?!”

Jacqueline opened her mouth to say something, but no sound escaped from her parted lips, and a hesitant expression was plastered on her face.

Daisuke huffed in frustration before briskly walking over to the sewer cap.

“What are you doing, nii-chan?” Kyouki asked as Daisuke opened the sewer cap.

“Yes, Ukihara.” Jacqueline asked, “What are you doing?”

Daisuke looked up at the two girls, mostly at his sister. He smiled at Kyouki and replied, “Where else? Wherever Andrew’s going, it’s bound to be something troublesome. He’s going to need some back up.”

* * *

“Jeremie, can you hear me?”

No answer.

“Jeremie, please answer.”

A pause.

“Aelita?”

Aelita gasped in delight as she heard a familiar voice respond.

“Thank goodness, you’re still alive.”

“Yeah, but barely, though. My memories seem to be intact, but they’re not fully attached to me. I must have transferred them to the apprentice. Judging by how XANA’s not trying to get my memories, I’d say he’s going for the more painful ones first, like Ulrich’s or Yumi’s.”

“I disagree, Jeremie.” Aelita replied, “Because XANA just launched an attack on Andrew.”

There was no response. But, Aelita knew that he was still there, deep in thought.

With her sigh blowing a short, pink strand from her cheek, Aelita frowned. “Jeremie, you don’t think…?”

“No doubt about it…”

Andrew continued to climb the rungs of the sewer walls towards the sliding sewer cap above him.

“…He’ll definitely make him turn the computer back on…”

* * *

The elevator rumbled as it was lowered to the last floor of the abandoned factory.

A smirk crept across the young genius’ face as the doors hissed open, the gold locks unlatching in an echoing click.

The open doors revealed a dark, empty room. As soon as Andrew took a step into the room, a metal circle in the center of the room gave way to the giant motherboard from his dream, illuminating the room in a bright white light.

His footsteps resonated in the large room as Andrew approached the switch that controlled the power of the supercomputer two floors above.

A clammy, pale hand clutched the smooth, cold black handle, the images of the strange eye carved into the supporting wall of the switch.

No! This is wrong!

The scene of the man named Jeremie turning the switch off before being consumed by a Guardian and a blinding white light flashed behind the darkness that consumed him.

The man gave up his existence to turn this thing off!

The hand shook violently as the two different minds in the one body began to fight.

“Let go!” Andrew screamed through the darkness.

After a tiring mental struggle, the body eventually collapsed, exhausted. When the body finally regained its strength, the one conscious mind that occupied the body smirked victoriously as the adrenaline continued to rush through the young boy’s veins.

As the dark spirit inhabiting Andrew’s mind pulled the switch down, the motherboard whirred to life, illuminating the room with white and gold lights.

* * *

Aelita gasped, startling the awakened conscious on the other side of the world.

“What’s wrong, Aelita?”

“Don’t you feel it, Jeremie?” Aelita breathed, standing up, “That sudden surge of energy? Surely you felt it…”

There was an uncomfortable pause - accompanied by random bleeps from the tower’s computer system – before Aelita heard a sigh. “You know what to do, right, Aelita?”

“There’s got to be another way!” Aelita argued, “You might not be able to be materialized!”

“What other choice do we have, Aelita? We can’t let the others suffer for this…”

“But-!” Before Aelita could continue arguing, a blue, holographic screen appeared beside her. A young boy with tousled brown hair, pale skin, and round rimmed glasses wearing a blouse and brown sweater with a black tie appeared on a separate window within the screen. His eyes flashed the Eye of XANA like a dark heartbeat.

Aelita screamed, jumping back. “XANA!”

* * *

As the elevator door hissed open, Daisuke felt the tight grip of his little sister on his arm. Jacqueline stood firm with a furrowed expression plastered on her face.

“He’d better be here.” Daisuke muttered as the hissing steam dispersed in the air.

The room was somewhat dark, only illuminated by the soft, green glow of the computer screen and the giant hologram system in the center of the room. Wires seemed to have flown down from the golden beams above down to what seemed like a giant supercomputer. And in the yellow, electronic hover chair was a possessed Andrew, a frightening smirk plastered on his pale face.

Daisuke heaved a breath before walking towards the young genius cautiously.

Just a little more further…

* * *

"Aelita, listen to me!”

Aelita could feel fear swell up in her head as she saw the files on the blue screen shifting.

“Get to the center of the platform below and begin the materialization process. I’ll try to scare away XANA from Andrew, but you’ve got to try as well!”

“Jeremie, it’s too risky!” Aelita argued as she was being brought down to the platform below.

“Aelita.” the voice replied, ”How many times have you risked your very existence to save us and our world? Countless times!”

Aelita gasped as she was soon lifted off of the ground by a white light, suspended between the two platforms in mid-air.

“Now it’s my turn. Are you ready, Aelita?”

Hesitantly, Aelita replied, “Yes, Jeremie.”

“Alright then. Begin materialization.”

Aelita breathed deeply as the many blue screens against the blue walls of the tower began surrounding her in a flurry of lights.

"Code: Earth."

* * *

Andrew gasped as a blast of light chased the darkness away.

“What the-?”

Andrew released a held breath as he found himself back in his body when the light dispersed, facing the screen of a supercomputer in a dimly lit room, his body feeling weak and heavy.

“Andrew, you all right?” a familiar voice asked.

With wide eyes, Andrew turned his head slowly to face Daisuke and his little sister, Kyouki – who was clinging onto his arm tightly. Behind them was the new transfer student from a local public school, her expression a mixture of perplexion and fear.

Andrew was about to answer, but he didn’t get the chance, for he soon found himself falling off his chair and into unconsciousness.

“Andrew! Hey!” Daisuke exclaimed. He gasped when Kyouki let go of his arm and leaped forward, barely catching an unconscious Andrew before he hit the ground.

The air seemed to freeze around the four teens as a black, hazy smoke emerged from Andrew’s ears and swirled in mid-air a meter away, eventually shaping into a tall, young man with frighteningly pale skin with black veins showing through his white epidermis. His smoky black and silver hair was spiked and frizzed, making him seem like a gothic madman in a long, black trenchcoat, black shirt, and leather pants and boots. Chain links and buttoned straps embroidered his outfit. Around his neck, he wore a string bearing four, large pendants in the shape of the strange looking eye that Daisuke had seen in Andrew’s eyes only moments before.

Daisuke opened his mouth, no sound leaving his mouth for a moment. Finally, he croaked, “Who are you?”

“What did you do to the boy?” Jacqueline demanded behind Daisuke, taking a step forward.

The standing figure only grinned and cackled, revealing pearl white, sharp teeth, glinting in the dim, green light.

Kyouki whimpered quietly, clinging onto Andrew tightly.

“Nii-chan…” Kyouki whispered, “I’m scared…”

“Daijobu, Kyouki-chan.” Daisuke replied, “I’ll think of something…”

“It’s just a side effect when I possess humans.” The dark being replied to Jacqueline’s question, “Once I leave the body after possession, the human faints, since I’ve used up so much of their energy while I was inside them. Andrew is just the weakest one I’ve ever possessed.” – The being scoffed – “Even Jeremie was stronger…”

* * *

The scanner cylinder opened, the power whirring down as steam escaped from the open scanner, a woman stepped out, breathing heavily.

* * *

“Who the hell is Jeremie?” Daisuke wondered out loud, “Andrew muttered the name before, along with another name…”

As the elevator door clicked and hissed open, steam escaping through the enlargening cracks of the elevator lock, all attention was diverted to the steam-filled elevator, a glowing pink light floating in the center. Stepping through the dispersing steam, a tall woman with long, pink hair emerged. Her hair reached the back of her hip. She had fair skin and wore a long sleeved white blouse and a purple pleated skirt that reached down just above her ankles, where she wore a pair of dark pink slippers. The skirt seemed to shimmer with every movement that she made. A glowing pink orb floated above her upturned palm. A furrowed expression was carved into her face.

Kyouki held her breath as the woman’s slow footsteps resonated against the metal walls of the large room through its dead silence. Time seemed to pause when the woman stopped, keeping her furrowed eyes at the mysterious being.

Finally, the woman spoke, with a sarcastic smile, “Nice to see you again… XANA.”

The being smirked in reply.

“XANA…?” Daisuke muttered, remembering what happened in science class.

“I’m surprised to see you here, Hopper.” XANA replied, “But, where’s Jeremie? I have a score to settle with him.”

The woman’s face darkened when she heard the name Jeremie. Angrily, she swung her occupied hand, releasing the pink orb at the being named XANA, who merely blocked the attack with a forcefield, causing the orb to explode into a blast of light and sound, smoke whirling in the tense air, dispersing quickly as XANA waved his arm to blow the smoke away from his forward vision.

“You know perfectly well where he is!” Aelita snapped, “You’re the one who caused this whole mess that we're in!”

XANA just merely shrugged. Violet electricity crackled at his fingertips. “Then the so-called genius was an idiot.”

As the bolts of energy were shot at her, the woman leaped out of the way at a great height, landing on the golden beam near the ceiling on her fours. XANA quickly followed, a series of gold mirages trailing behind him.

That’s XANA?!” Daisuke exclaimed as Andrew groaned through his closed eyes, slowly gaining consciousness.

* * *

Blank darkness. No sound… nothing to see… no smell.

Absolutely nothing…

A familiar, pale hand reaches out through a gap in the darkness.

“Time to wake up, Andrew. Your friends need you.”

Andrew groaned as he stirred into consciousness, the sounds of zapping and energy surges slowly filling his ears with unpleasant noises. The voices were quick to follow.

“Hey, Andrew.” A blurry figure seemed to whisper, “You alright?”

Andrew blinked away the blurriness to see Daisuke, Kyouki, and Jacqueline hovering over him.

“What happened?” Andrew asked weakly.

“The freak up there fighting the woman ‘possessed’ you.” Daisuke replied, emphasizing the word, “possessed.”

Andrew grunted as he pulled himself up onto his elbows. “<CENSORED>. I should have fought him…”

Andrew’s attention was diverted from standing up completely when a blast of pink energy narrowly missed Andrew’s face.

Eyes wide with a mixture of fear and surprise, Andrew looked up at the golden beams above him, where two familiar beings were throwing pink orbs and violet energy surges at each other.

Those faces…

The faces of the woman named Aelita and the madman named XANA flashed in his mind as seen from his dream.

No… it can’t be… It’s just a dream, isn’t it?

But nonetheless, Andrew soon found himself bolting out of his laying position, rushing towards the rungs against the opposite wall that led up to the golden beams and an opening that led to the factory’s corridor.

“Andrew, get down from there!” Daisuke cried.

“You’ll get killed!” Jacqueline screamed.

“Andrew-san!” Kyouki cried, running after the young genius, only to be stopped by her big brother’s grip on her shoulders.

“Kyouki, no!” Daisuke exclaimed, struggling to keep Kyouki where she stood. “It’s bad enough that Andrew is going up there! I don’t need to worry about you, too!”

Kyouki began begging and wailing in Japanese to Daisuke, who only snapped back in the same language, a mental straining showing through the young Japanese teen’s eyes. Eventually, the squirming Kyouki whimpered as tears of confusion and frustration rolled down her cheeks, sobbing, “Nii-chan…”

Jacqueline frowned when she saw the two siblings struggling with each other. When she diverted her attention to the golden beams, she gasped at the sight. Through gritted teeth, she muttered, “Ukihara…”

Daisuke stared at her in reply. Jacqueline motioned her head to the direction of the gold beams.

Daisuke followed Jacqueline’s direction and cursed beneath his breath in Japanese when he saw Andrew up on the golden beams, balancing across the gold beams.

Daisuke hollered something up at Andrew in Japanese. He later learned to regret what he had said, and wished that Andrew hadn’t understood.

For out of the fifty languages that Andrew knew, Japanese was one of them. His cheeks puffed in anger, a vein forming on his forehead.

Andrew shot back in Japanese at a speed with perfect dialect that scared Daisuke.

When Andrew was done, Jacqueline – with wide eyes – turned to face the Ukiharas, Kyouki staring up at her shocked brother with her own eyes widened.

“What the hell did he just say?” Jacqueline asked.

Daisuke only glared at her in reply, an expression that told Jacqueline, “You don’t want to know.”

“Well, then what did you say?”

The two Ukiharas only gave her the same expression that Daisuke had given her before.

Jacqueline paused for a moment before she frowned. “Oh. I see.”

When Jacqueline began chuckling, Daisuke narrowed his eyes and frowned. “Shut up.”

Andrew grunted as he grabbed onto the gold beam above his head and struggled to hoist himself up onto it. Andrew was – unfortunately, in his case – one of those kids that knew what to do in situations like this, but didn’t actually have the physical capabilities to put some of those ideas into action, for his athleticism level was down at a 0.5 on a scale of ten.

When Andrew finally managed to hoist the top half of his body up onto the top beam, he let out a sigh of relief. “Finally…”

Andrew then yelped when a pink-slippered foot barely missed his pale hand, his glasses tilting half off of his ears from the sudden reaction.

The woman looked down and gagsped. “Andrew! Get down from here, it’s dangerous!”

“But you need help!” Andrew argued, readjusting his glasses with one hand and eventually forcing the rest of his body up onto the gold beam. He didn't bother to ask how she knew his name.

Before the woman could argue, she felt a sudden surge of energy as a violet charge was shot towards her.

“Look out!” Andrew cried, as he used the remains of his strength to interfere the path of the electricity from reaching the young woman, getting himself shocked in the process, forcing him to scream in pain as a searing pain rushed through his veins.

“Andrew!” Jacqueline cried.

“Andrew-san!” Kyouki screamed.

Daisuke grunted in frustration. “Baka…”

“Andrew!” the woman cried as the electricity residing in the young teen’s frail body caused the two to collapse backwards, pushing Andrew and the woman off of the gold beam.

“Yes!” the madman exclaimed in triumph.

Bleep! The supercomputer’s screen flashed green, before a window opened as a “tower-searching” program was launched.

“Huh?” the smoky haired goth man turned his head to face the screen. The image of a highlighted cylinder with a dark, terrestrial base flashed on the window, a symbol of a vector-style angel wing flashing on the right hand corner, the sound of an alert signal’s bleeping resonating through the room.

“How did he…?”

As glowing pink angel wings suddenly shot out of her back, the woman yelped as she was suddenly suspended in the air, Andrew being curled up in a bundle in her arms, unconscious.

The woman shook her head from the sudden shock, her eyes beaming with relief when she felt the forceful wind of her wings against her cheeks. “Jeremie…” – she turned her head to face the supercomputer’s screen – “Thank you!”

Kyouki’s eyes widened with she saw the glowing pink wings emerging from the pink-haired stranger’s back, suspending her and an unconscious Andrew in mid-air.

“Sugoi…” Kyouki breathed.

“Is she an angel?” Daisuke wondered out loud.

“By the looks of it…” Jacqueline replied, “It’s a certain energy force in the shape of wings. But, I don’t see a power pack on her back.”

When Jacqueline said this, Daisuke and Kyouki stared at her with wide eyes and dropped jaws.

“What?” Jacqueline asked. “You don’t expect me to believe that she actually is an angel, do you?”

“No!” the madman cried, releasing another charge of violet energy.

The woman flew out of the way, shielding Andrew from the aftershocks, reflecting most of them with her wings. She then flew up to the gold beam, her wings opened threateningly. She held Andrew vertically, supporting his back and his legs with her arms, his head resting motionlessly, his chin in towards his chest.

The woman smirked. “It’s anybody’s game now, XANA.”

XANA grunted as he took a step back, refusing to back out from a battle that he had started.

“I’m not going down that easily.” XANA retorted, a violet charge forming around his hand.

The woman furrowed, grunting in frustration. “You just don’t give up, do you?”

“What do you think?” XANA replied, releasing the charge at the woman, who flew out of harm’s way. “I don’t give a damn about this world, or yours! This is just a game to me!” – Another charge dodged – “A form of entertainment!”

“Kyouki, now!” Daisuke exclaimed.

“Huh?” XANA whirled around and gasped as a young human girl flew down from one of the top ceiling shelves above, an ornate, open Japanese fan held as a weapon in her hand.

XANA grunted as he missed the young girl’s cutting attack by a hair, getting his stomach scratched in the process, causing him to grunt in pain, tumbling backwards and collapsing to the ground while grasping his pained chest, black blood dripping across his leather glove.

Daisuke flew down from one of the shelves as well, armed with a metal rod with sharp edges. As he flew down, he met eye to eye with XANA, feeling a sense of surprise and fear in his eyes, almost making Daisuke hesitant to swing his rod against XANA’s pale face, causing a bloody scar to form, blood and spit flying towards the opposite direction of Daisuke’s landing position.

XANA rolled onto his fours, blood dripping down his shirt and his face. When he heard a whistling sound behind him, XANA jumped out of the way, just as an arrow pinned itself onto the golden beam as to where XANA was previously. The madman landed safely a meter away, his trenchcoat fluttering on top of gravity’s force. He turned his head to see Jacqueline, aiming a charged crossbow at him while holding onto a ladder rung on the wall beside the entrance to the corridor. XANA grunted as he barely dodged another arrow, this time skimming across his trenchcoat, causing a tear on this sleeve, a small stinging scar to form on his arm.

Up in the air, the woman prepared to swoop down, a pink energy orb charged in her hand, only to be stopped by the groan of Andrew gaining consciousness.

The woman gasped and looked down at the young boy as he fluttered his eyes open into consciousness. The young teen felt like he weighed the equivalent of a ton of bricks.

“Andrew, you’re awake!” the woman exclaimed.

“Huh?” Andrew looked up and gasped when he realized that they were in mid-air. He scrambled to the woman’s shoulder and yelped when a set of glowing, pink wings nearly hit him in the face.

“You can fly?!” Andrew exclaimed.

“Only because Jeremie activated them.” The woman replied.

Jeremie?

The scene from when he was unconscious in science class flashed in his mind. The man standing behind him mentioned Jeremie and the Lyoko Warriors.

“He can give you wings?” Andrew asked.

The woman smiled. “He can do a lot of things. After all, it’s because of him that I’m here.”

That’s when it hit him.

“Then, that means…” Andrew stuttered, staring at the woman wide-eyed. “You’re…”

Andrew couldn’t finish what he was going to say, for they barely missed a charge of violet energy shot at them from below.

“Hold on.” The woman warned, as she flew down towards where XANA and the Ukiharas were.

Daisuke flipped backwards in mid-air as XANA charged at the young Japanese teen. When XANA whirled around on his heel, he came face to face with Daisuke, soon getting whacked in his side by Daisuke’s metal rod, causing a slightly bleeding bruise to form against his rib cage. Never in his life has XANA ever felt so much pain before.

As soon as XANA skidded to a stop from the force that Daisuke drove into him, Kyouki threw a surprise attack at him by karate kicking him on his head, causing him to tumble on his side before landing on his feet before as Kyouki aimed another karate attack, this time spinning on her bent leg, her other leg outstretched and aiming at XANA’s ankles, causing him to jump out of the way above Kyouki’s head, landing a safe meter away, only to be forced to jump backwards to dodge an attack made by the pink-haired stranger above ground. He spotted Andrew holding on to her, conscious with a determined expression on his face.

“Now!” Andrew screamed, as the woman dropped him at a great height, causing the young teen to free fall downwards towards an injured XANA. His landing was a result of the young genius tackling the madman, forcing the two to start a bloody fight.

As soon as XANA threw Andrew towards the edge of the gold beam, he shot a violet charge at the young genius. Andrew managed to flip in mid-air and dodged the charge. As he began falling down towards the second gold beam, he found himself landing on a thin piece of metal, barely holding on. He turned his head to face Daisuke, who held out his rod for Andrew to land on.

“Ready, Einstein?” Daisuke asked.

Andrew nodded with a huff of determination.

“Then go for it!” Daisuke cried, as he launched Andrew in the air. Kyouki met him half of the way, grabbing onto his pale hand, meeting him face to face for a moment.

“I believe in you!” Kyouki smiled, before she threw Andrew up at the gold beam, where Jacqueline leapt down from her position on the ladder with her crossbow.

“Here to help, Einstein.” Jacqueline replied with a somewhat smile, her crossbow pointed at XANA.

Andrew smiled then said, “Aim for the neck as soon as I tackle him.”

“Got it.” Jacqueline replied as she lifted her crossbow and aimed it at the target that Andrew had directed. “Go now.”

Andrew nodded then charged towards XANA, who was crouching, grasping his recently scarred arm. Andrew slid on his stomach sliding down to where XANA was, tackling him in the stomach with his elbow, causing black blood to squirt out of his chest wound, splattering on Andrew’s face and clothes.

At that instant, Jacqueline released the arrow, the head traveling at high speed towards XANA’s neck, but only merely scratching him and slicing the leather cord that flew as he was tackled.

As XANA screamed, his body beginning to become smoke, he grasped onto one of the pendants, as Andrew pulled at the leather cord with two hands, before he slid and collapsed on the ground unconscious.

Holding onto one pendant, XANA escaped through the ceiling as a hazy black smoke, leaving the factory somewhat peaceful once again.

The woman gasped as her wings exploded into a flurry of glowing feathers that dispersed into the air.

“Jeremie?” the woman called softly.

No answer.

As Andrew began gaining consciousness, he felt a part of him fade away; a part of him that has been around since he was nine years old. A part of him that he grew used to having around through the tough times of his life. It felt as if he was partially dead…

Dead…

“Oh no…” Andrew growled through gritted teeth as he began to stand.

“Andrew, thank god!” Daisuke exclaimed, “You’re alright.”

Before Andrew could answer, the woman rushed over to the group, a troubled expression plastered on her face. “Andrew, go on the supercomputer and start the virtualization process. The rest of you, follow me. There’s not much time left.”

“Hold on!” Andrew exclaimed just as the others began to stand up. “Just who exactly are you? And how do you know my name?”

The woman looked at Andrew straight in the eye and replied, “Your question as to how I know your name will be answered later. As for my identity..."

Andrew held his breath as he awaited the stranger's answer, the others just as anticipated as him.

"I am Aelita Hopper," the stranger replied, "the Key of Lyoko.”

I'll see you all at Chapter Two: Sector Five! Please read and review! Constructive critisism will be gladly accepted!

Okay, a quick author's margin notes!

I forgot to explain how the three Kadic students got their weapons, or got their plans. The most confusing one probably was how Jacqueline managed to get her hands on a crossbow. I forgot to add to the character descriptions that each of them actually carried a bag, except for Daisuke, who had to find a sharp rod somewhere in the factory.

The wings on Aelita's back dispersed when she landed, if I had forgotten to add that part, I am very sorry.

I felt that the story had moved much too fast, so I will be making some adjustments to the DeviantART version of the story, and I will be careful to add the missing aspects of the chapter into the doujinshi version as well. The first page should be released some time in the New Year.

Please read and review the DA version please, since CLTCG won't let me write certain swear words in the story, which I think are required to make the story more powerful. You can read it at http://avalons-healer.deviantart.com. The prologue is up right now, and the edited first chapter will also be up soon.

Thanks to the supporters of the story so far!
